Baptism

Baptism is the Church’s special welcome into God’s family. People are normally baptised as babies, but many are baptised as children, young people or adults.

At whatever stage in life you are seeking baptism, you are making a decision to start a journey of faith, which involves turning away from all that is evil, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family, and the Church will support you as you seek to grow in faith.

Parents: as well as starting your child on a journey of faith through baptism, you are also celebrating the birth of your child, thanking God for the gift of life.

We normally conduct baptisms on the third Sunday of the month in the afternoon. Other times may be possible by arrangement with our Vicar.

To discuss a baptism further please contact our Baptism Secretary, Sheila Jenkins, on 01245 321739 in the first instance.
